Focus on Local History: Virtual Event

Each month, join local historian Gavin Schmitt (and the occasional guest speaker) on Facebook to learn about a piece of Kaukauna or Wisconsin history. The sharing of memories is strongly encouraged, and proposals for future topics are welcome.

January: Epworth House. We will discuss a local religious organization that kept women and children active in civics and their community. Also, Prohibition!

February: Act 31. What is Act 31? Who were the people in Northeast Wisconsin who created it? And why is it important.

March: Women's History Month / Electa Quinney. Who was Quinney? Why do we have a school named after her? Why is there a statue in Fassbender Park?

April: National Library Week. We talk about how the "Carnegie building" came to be, and the people who made it happen.

Follow the library on Facebook to be notified when the event goes live online.  It will be available on Facebook and YouTube any time after that.
