Kids Reading to Canines

Next Reading Date:
Saturday, March 17, 2012 - 10:00am

The Kids Reading to Canines program allows beginning readers to practice reading out loud to a kid’s best friend, a dog. During the Kids Reading to Canines program, children in first through fourth grade can share their favorite stories with a therapy dog. While a child is reading to the dog, the owner will be present; parents are asked to step away so that the child can experience the confidence boosting company of the therapy dog.

Registration for reading times begins now and is on a first come first serve basis. The program will take place on the third Saturday of every month beginning in October 2011- May 2012. Advanced registration is required. The Kaukauna Public Library is in partnership with the Fox Valley Humane Association for this program.
